BREEDING FROM SEEDS

With a little effort, we can grow plants from the seeds of most fruits, which we eat. Most of them need adequate watering and lighting, quiet place and constant temperature. It is worth using multipliers – boxes that provide the emerging plants with adequate humidity.

An avocado

Probably the biggest stone, we can find an avocado; a very attractive plant grows out of it at home. The most popular way to bring about germination is to immerse a stone fixed on supports in water, similar to the treatment of hyacinth bulbs. Please note, so that the pit was dipped thicker (rounder) the end. We put it in a dark place, at constant temperature of 21 ° C – np. in a ventilated cupboard. The stone slowly swells slightly, after which, after a period of ten days to six weeks, it sprouts a root and a yellow-green sprout. During this time, the plant should be provided with light. When the roots fill the jar, we transfer it to a pot with a diameter of approx 12 cm. After about four months, she will need a 30 cm pot.

How to grow an avocado
1. We fix the stone with stuck matches in a jar of water. We leave it in the dark until it germinates.
2. We transfer it to light, leaving long roots to grow in the jar.
3. We put the plant in a pot with a diameter 12 cm.

Citrus

Each citrus stone can generally produce several seedlings. We should breed all of them, for only some of them will be able to reproduce in the future.

The optimal temperature for the germination of citrus seeds is 16-21 ° C. Lemon seeds are more tolerant of low temperatures. Bury the seeds shallowly in the ground and put them in a sunny place. Most of the citrus comes from the Mediterranean region and tolerates the cold winter seasons well.

It is relatively easiest to grow lemons, although Spanish oranges (from Seville) and tangerines also grow well. All citruses are attractive shiny plants, dark green leaves and white, fragrant flowers.

Pitted lemons

We plant the seeds in a multiplier with a clean lid. Thanks to the closure, we maintain humidity. The same gives us a plastic bag applied to the pot.

Small trees

Many trees can be an attractive and interesting breeding object, however, it should be remembered, that most go through a harsh winter season in nature, therefore, during this period we transfer them to a cold room.

One of the simpler breeding objects can be apple trees or chestnut trees. In the case of apple trees, we will use seeds from very ripe apples. We plant them in gardening soil at a depth of about 1 cm. They should germinate after 3-8 Weeks.

You can plant the chestnut in the garden right away, however, it will be easier to put it in a pot with a hole in the bottom. We plant in the fall, covering the fruit with a thin layer of sand. In February, we take the pot home and place it in a slightly heated room to stimulate germination. Once the plant has emerged, we transplant it to the garden.

Pineapple

Growing a plant from the tip of a pineapple fruit is not at all difficult. We cut off the top of the fruit, leaving a disk of flesh approx 1 cm. We postpone for 48 hours to dry. Before planting, slightly moisten and dip in a rooter. Then we put in a pot with a hole, trying not to leave the ground on the leaves. The pot should have a diameter greater by at least 2,5 cm from the disc, to leave room for convenient watering. Then put the pot in a warm, sunny place.

We plant pineapple

We cut off the top of the fruit and leave a disc about a thickness of 1 cm. After drying, plant using a rooter. Polyethylene bag acts as a multiplier.
